100tic, 1000fps

Post by greenstar »

Hi. we rent a dedicated, and we're running into fps problems. here is our current command line:

Code: Select all

-console -game cstrike -port 27016 -autoupdate +maxplayers 16 +map de_dust2 +ip 216.52.148.173 -tickrate 100 +fps_max 1000
According to rcon stats, the server fps is at ~63. Though in console i set updaterate to 101, it stays at 60.

any helP?

This means that you need to load up a "ping booster" program to enable the multimedia timer. A popular one is srcdsfpsboost: http://www.fileplanet.com/174303/170000 ... rver-Guide

On Windows, with the multimedia timer enabled, you'll be able to achieve 500fps (on Windows 2003) or 1000fps (on Windows 2008). But, you will also need to use a higher fps_max, such as the one we default to in the server.cfg file we provided.

I used a plugin for MM:Source.

Better than running a stupid executable file each time.

If you want it to be even MORE convenient you can run one as a service on Windows, I have that file somewhere.
