WinSCP Question

Post by IcEWoLF »

First of all I used the client version and all I can say is I am stunned how good it is compared to Filezilla, this thing works smooth, I'd recommend everyone to get it.

My question is, is there a server version of this client?
I could only find the client versions, I am trying to figure out on the website which one is the server version.

WinSCP is purely a client-side application. The server component is provided by all major Linux distributions already, as SSH. On Windows, you'd have to load up a separate SFTP server to get the secure functionality -- or, you could run a regular FTP server and just use WinSCP for its easy-to-use interface.

Dang, John beat me to it! I use WinSCP as well, have been for a long time. Server side uses SSH of FTP, which is standard on every Linux Distro.

I even use WinSCP to login to my Proftpd server on my Ubuntu server. Haven't had a single problem with it. 8)
