Is there a safer way to change bot names in counter strike source?
Do i have to modify a file in wordpad within my steam directory?

To change your bot names, you would need to download the botprofile.db file from your game server through the FTP, edit it in notepad, and then re-upload it (you might also need to delete the old copy before you re-upload).

I'd recommend against using Wordpad to edit it, since it is a straight text file.

On your client, you won't need to make any changes.

ok thanks...were is the folder/subfolders of botprofile.db located?

It is located in the folder for the mod. With CS:S, it would be in the "cstrike" folder.
