Usage on... in Patch 1.5 in Patch 1.6
Straight tracks on Flat Ground 1 every 26 blocks 1 every 42 blocks
Diagonal tracks on Flat Ground 1 every 36 blocks 1 every 52 blocks
Tracks going up Slopes 1 every 2 blocks 1 every 4 blocks
