Hi,
Be default your server should be added to the master list and be opted in for quick match. You can change some settings to customize it to you if you would like.

@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!

@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

These are your major options for how to configure the server: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =70&t=5905. Quickmatch (normal) and Hardcore seem to be the main ones that get butts in the seats right now.
Re: How to get my server in the mix?
We start on a popular map. Caspien. I turned the min needed to start to 2 so people arnt stuck in freeze till 8 show up. We were empty yesterday until I made these changes. Also we use the hardcore mode. I wouldnt use a custom config. I camped the server bymyself this morning and now it is full.

Re: How to get my server in the mix?
People seem to like those hardcore servers, which is good. I hope not too many other servers switch

Re: How to get my server in the mix?
Ive just done some testing regarding the "StartPlayerCount" command, and it doesn't take you out of the Quick Match rotation if you change this cvar.
I have mine set to "1" so as soon as 1 guy joins, he can run around. I joined my server, shortly afterward (about 15 minutes) it was full.
Just a heads up!

Are you referring to the "Round start player count" under easy setup? if so, this does not work where you need a minimum of 8 players, please explain.zaNe wrote:Ive just done some testing regarding the "StartPlayerCount" command, and it doesn't take you out of the Quick Match rotation if you change this cvar.

Re: How to get my server in the mix?
The lowest I can get mine to work with is 4 for player round start.
Re: How to get my server in the mix?
I'm referring to the cvar "vars.roundStartPlayerCount"
I ran this command in my server control page (where I can run rcon commands from) vars.roundStartPlayerCount "1" then I changed the map so everything would load, I played around just shooting walls and planting bombs on MCOMs, shortly after I had a full server (maybe 15-30 minutes to be more 'precise'
)
It was full for about 5 hours afterward, then it crashed and Im back to square one
Oh well its late, I'll get back on it tomorrow!

Re: How to get my server in the mix?
From looking at the servers here at NFO that are constantly full, it seems as though Quickmatch doesn't actually care about the settings -- I see servers with altered vehicle spawns, 1 player required to start the round, spawning on the squad leader, and so on, all full. That's quite interesting. Maybe EA removed the filter here at the beginning because they're worried about not having enough regular servers.
Re: How to get my server in the mix?
I think Quick Match just needs some players in a server for it to get going. I get my clan mates in the server for sometimes 15-30 minutes, sometimes its an hour, but eventually it fills up, and once it gets going, its going great with no lag and basically no issues whatsoever, up until the server crashes. Then we gotta restart the process, which is tedious.
It's all a part of getting a server in the first month though, gotta iron out those issues, DICE!

Re: How to get my server in the mix?
The next time it fills up like that, could you ask the players if they got in through quickmatch? It's possible that the browser's "random" order also showed you at the top and got people in the door.
Re: How to get my server in the mix?
I've tried that commandline cvar from little to no avail, also tried all sorts of cute catchy names you see all over, still no joy so I'm lost on what is going on here. Our server largely sits empty and if it ever does fill it's almost always late at night at around the same time, suffice it to say I'm not happy here.
I posted this right after using the cvar mentioned above and well I've now got 19 players and it's going up so might be something to this, x fingers

Re: How to get my server in the mix?
Ok the server is now full at 64 players, this took all of about 5 minutes or so from my first post and implementing the cvar "vars.roundStartPlayerCount 1" command, I'm impressed and hoping this will be a trend!
