Server Not Filling? Try THIS!! (BF3)

I got one of my servers full by running normal, and then when it was full we switched it to hardcore.

As of Nov 07 2011 10:56:18 my server died. It has been running full for a week, but when they made the changes no more quick match players. Since the introduction of quick match it seems like smaller communities have suffered. Nobody seems to use favorites to play, just quick match.

So the server I got full by starting with Normal Preset and then switch to Hardcore lasted all night. I will try this with another server, and will have my community idling in the server to help get it started. This seems to work the best.

You guys can try this yourself, just hit quickmatch in battlelog an you will see it only places you in Normal Servers not Hardcore.

is anyone experiencing issue with the dynamic player count tool?

we had it running and it worked great (thanks big time John!) ... but now im being told that EA "fixed" something and we cant seem to get it to work ...

It still works on our test server to some extent, getting random players in there. Player loads are lower on Tuesdays than weekends, though, of course. It is also possible that they tweaked QM to prefer larger servers in some cases and only sends the odd player to smaller ones, which makes a lot of sense.

conq just keeps killing it so i guess just staying on rush...probably just drop back from the 64 to 32 when renewal time comes...

It seems like they are only sending 1 or 2 people to empty servers now. They quickly leave, so you can't get a game started.

I ran the dynamic player count overnight. Never got over 16. Im not sure how many bf3 servers there are but it seems to be 3-4 empty servers for every full one. Going to stick with just 32 without the tool. We want people to know we are a 32 slot server and not smaller. We get a lot of instant disconnects from the qm.

I was trying the player adjuster yesterday when our server was empty and wasn't getting anything. I think they really did change something but can't say for sure. Thankfully, with the player adjuster off, my guys helped get our server full with 64 players and it hasn't dropped ever since. Let's see if we can stay full for 24 hours straight.

we tried the player count adjuster and it is working properly today ... i dont know what the issues were this morning, but its working fine now ...

The player adjuster always does the same thing on our end; it's a very simple tool. The only real factor in its success is whether Quickmatch puts players in, and how many it puts in. That's on EA's end and certainly also relates to the number of players in the game right now compared to the number of open servers.

i miss the old days when I had 3 full servers 24/7.. now its very difficult to even seed them with 8 people.

I think they have set it up that if the server is empty, you get very little action.
If several clan members go in, the server fills up in minutes.
