Setting up DNS (domain name)

Post by Drength »

In http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... &hilit=dns is says:
7. Pointing your domain at us by updating the DNS servers at your registrar to NS1.NFOSERVERS.COM and NS2.NFOSERVERS.COM, then adding it to the Domains page here

Is this just for those who use your web hosting (I can not seem to find this Domains Page) or am I missing something?

I use two domains to ease connections to the server...and so players just have to remember the DNS name instead of the IP.

Yes, this is mainly for people that web hosts their website with NFo and that they need to point their domain to the NFo server.

That topic mainly explains how to transfer your files from your old webserver to NFo web server and how to point your domain to the new server.

Thanks.
I guess I was expecting a dns console like my last host...I was hoping to avoid messing with my registrar's DNS :(

Well if you want to move web hosts you will have to.
You will be just pointing a DNS, it's not going to mess up your domain.
Who did you register you domain with?

It's easy and painless :).

I got my domain at namecheap...I think I just have to get past the cobwebs since I haven't done any of this in so long.

I think I've got the configuration correct...and now I wait :D
