Were Getting DDOSed!

Our Server is Hosted by your company in LA and was just being DDOSed, Our entire Server went down and is currently pretty empty from the downtime it had after being FULL for weeks straight. What can Be done to prevent this? It has happend before and has happend again I would like some more Security in Place to prevent this from happening a 3rd time.

This should be noted for Other Admins as well who Admin their Servers and might happen to Piss off a Hacker/Script Kiddie. This costs us Time and Money and causes Frustration.

Have you opened a support request about this? We usually respond very fast to attacks and usually have them resolved in a short amount of time. In complete honesty..most users believe they are undergoing some type of attacks when they really aren't. It would be best to open a request and have a staff member check the bandwidth graphs for your specific server/machine, this will surely tell us more.

Are you running your servers from a VDS by chance?

If you are hit with a DDoS attack, that does not reflect a security shortcoming on our end. Instead, it means that you've been targeted by an attacker who is specifically trying to take your server offline by exhaustion of resources and/or taking advantage of a performance flaw in the application.

In many cases, we can filter DDoS attacks, and we always do our best. Please read those links that kraze posted and make sure to contact us through the "Help!" page in your control panel in the future right when you think you're being hit.

Thank you for the Help. I did use the help and it was DDOS attack according to your admin. They managed to take down our website for a short time as well. I will be contacting your help if and when it happens again.
