Slow download speed using Remote Desktop

Post by mpsimpson »

I have an unmanaged VDS with you guys. My home internet speed is 100/5 Mbps. When I upload files over Remote Desktop to the VDS I can hit 5 Mbps but when I'm downloading something from the VDS it won't go over 2/2.5 Mbps.

Anyone know if there are any setting I need to change to fix this? The VDS has Windows Server 2008 R2 on it and I'm running Windows 7 on my home computer.

Thanks.

RDC is just very slow when uploading/downloading and I do not know a way around it. I would recommend downloading files directly to your VDS from sources on the web, whenever possible, instead of transferring files through RDC.

Alright, It just makes making backups of my Minecraft server and stuff slow. That's why I was wanting to see if there was anything I could do.

Thanks for the reply. :D
