I'm having an issue with my HTTP download speeds being limited to 100~kb/s, when i've tried using multiple threads it grows at a steady rate, 10 threads give me 1mb/s; 20 threads give me 2mb/s. This issue has been persistent for the past couple of months when running Debian Squeeze with Apache2 webserver, but now(since last night) i'm running CentOS 6.2 with nginx webserver.. Not a single difference in the issue.
I primarily use this webserver for FastDL for a couple CSS servers, i'll be running a forum soon too.
http://420hb.com/no.rar is the test file i've been toying with, i've had a few friends give it a go and they come up with the same results i do.. 100~kb/s. what i usually get from it is 5mb/s which stays consistent when using SFTP..
I downloaded that file and I was seeing speeds of 3MB/s, I usually expect it to jump up to 5 or 6 for a quick second but 3MB/s is pretty fast.
Did you notice that this happened after you made a change to your VDS by chance?
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

yeah.. last night i got 3-4mb/s instead of my max of 4.5-5.5mb/s.. but i was just happy it didn't stick to 100kb/s immediately after the new OS install, so i passed it off as my internet being temporarily crap. that's odd that you're getting 3mb/s though.. i'm Still getting 100kb/s since before i made this thread
Go ahead and open a support request with the information in your latest post so we can get this over to John and see what he can do.
