Apache 2 Test Page

Post by Tyler »

Hi there. I have a website and a minecraft server. The minecraft server has an A NAME under my domain. When I but this A NAME into my web-browser, an Apache 2 Test Page comes up. See for yourself: http://mc.novahq.org/

How do I remove this or change it so it just redirects to my homepage?

The instructions are actually given on that page :)
You may now add content to the directory /var/www/html/. Note that until you do so, people visiting your website will see this page and not your content. To prevent this page from ever being used, follow the instructions in the file /etc/httpd/conf.d/welcome.conf.

I don't understand how to get to that section. Like I use FilaZilla and those directories do not exist.

Since you are hosting the site at 199.187.123.122 (outside of our control), I can't really help with that end of it =\.

Since you have a webhosting account set up with us already, you could also just host your site here, using the "Folder" option on the Domains page instead of "A".

And I just saw your edit. This is actually a minecraft server ip, Just its dedicated. So using the A NAME lets me redirect the domain to ip so people can join and remember my server. If I make it a folder, I don't think people can join the sub-domain?

That's correct, you would have to give people a different subdomain for the website in that case.
