Setting up a CS:GO server on unmanaged VPS
Hi,
I am following valves instructions on how to install CS:GO dedicated files onmy VPS. It says to download the SteamCMD Update Tool, and when i run this, it gets an error every time and crashes. Could i get some help on how to setup a default server?
Thank you!!
Oscar

What is the error that you are receiving? What OS are you using?

The error is a crash, it closes to fast to see the error. I tried to look up in google and other people have similar errorsEdge100x wrote:What is the error that you are receiving? What OS are you using?
C:\Users\CSGO Dedi>steamcmd
ILocalize::AddFile() failed to load file "public/steambootstrapper_english.txt".

It looks similar to this, but it really closes too fast for me to see.
I am using Windows

Could i get the hosting files?
Re: Setting up a CS:GO server on unmanaged VPS
I don't know of another place to find the files, and to update them, you'll still need steamcmd.
You should extract steamcmd to its own empty folder somewhere, then run it from the command line.
Are your DNS and IP settings valid?

I got it to run, i followed the exact steps here
https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wik ... ed_Servers
Now i get this error, what do i do?
Re: Setting up a CS:GO server on unmanaged VPS
Try running this command (assuming steamcmd is in c:\steamcmd).
Code: Select all
reg add "HKCUSoftwareValveSteam ActiveProcess" /v SteamClientDll /t REG_SZ /d "c:/steamcmd/steamclient.dll"

That part works, i got the server running but the image above that you see, the server becomes lan only. It also doesn't appear in master list.
