Look's like it's using the default settings from the gamemodes.txt.So you now have to set
those cvars in the gamemode_casual.cfg etc.Map groups still need to be set in the gamemodes_server.txt as far as i can tell.

Yes you still need to make those changes in the autoexec.cfg.Yes.For bot, change the bot quota in the competitive cfg to 0.

The way that it works now is that gamemodes.txt is first loaded. Then, the game loads gamemodes_server.txt over the top of it, merging the two. Then, it looks at the "exec" section for the game type you have chosen and executes any files shown there, in order; the two files Valve lists are "gamemode_xxx.cfg" and "gamemode_xxx_server.cfg", where "xxx" is the game mode in question.

Valve has stated that gamemode_xxx.cfg represents the game defaults and should not be modified by server admins, just as gamemodes.txt should be left alone. You should always edit gamemode_xxx_server.cfg instead.

So you now have to create a gamemode_casual_server.cfg & make your cvar/map group changes there?

LittleB, yes, that's correct. I've updated the "Easy setup" page to show these files and explain this now.

I have modified gamemode_casual.cfg and have not had any server issues

Is it okay for me to leave this?

Will the gamemode_casual _server.cfg overwrite gamemode_casual.cfg automatically?

It won't overwrite, it will just execute after the gamemode_casual.cfg which will then "overwrite" the cvars that are set.

It is suggested to not modify the gamemode_xxx.cfg because these files could be reset in the future with further server updates from valve.

Instead modify the gamemode_xxx_server.cfg file as that will always be left alone by valve.
