Increased maxplayers released!

Post by soja »

You can now run 64-slot CS:GO servers(unofficially):

(mostly for dedi-vds users i guess, until NFO sells higher slot servers)

whats nfo's take on this? I forget. I'll have to read the terms again.

Seeing as how we already utilize a core. But i am sure there are also other utilizing costs for running higher slot servers other than the core itself, such as how much use and bandwidth also.

If you are running a 32 slot server, it should be 32 slots or less.

as Cody said, it is against our terms to raise the maximum number of connections to your server but depending on if Valve releases a official 64 slot patch or not, we may take the same route as we did with L4D2. However, an extra 32 slots is different from only an extra eight...
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point

@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

I believe psychonic just re-enabled the command like parameter so if you do have access to it, you can raise the slot count. If you don't have access to this(like on a shared hosting server) then you're out of luck(unless NFO allows slot raises through a ticket or something).

Like I said, mostly for dedi/vds customers.

This can be done for unmanaged vds and dedicated servers.

If you have an unmanaged or managed dedicated server or VDS, you have access to the server command line (via the "Managed panel" page, for a managed server) and you are welcome to give this a try, though we can't provide official support for it. Regular shared servers are currently limited to 32 players and we will have to evaluate further whether we can support them with more than that.
