Domain Name Registrars - Advice

Post by Xenomorphic »

I am looking at renting a VDS at NFO and currently have three domains with another company and this company manages my domain name registration. Does NFO manage domain names and if not should I keep the registrations with my current provider?

Does anyone have a recomendation for a good domain name registrar? Thanks.

I could be wrong so don't take this to the bank, but NFO does not manage domain names. If they do I don't know about it.

I used to be with the bandwagon GoDaddy, but recently switched to dnsimple.com due to the lack of support/pricing with GoDaddy.

Hopes this helps!

Godaddy has 20 pages of crap. Namecheap took maybe 2 minutes.

I know i'm chiming in late here but Hover is great.

I've used GoDaddy and 1&1 in the past and Hover has been the best experience in my book. Domains register quickly and DNS records update quickly.

From what I've witnessed, NEVER use 1&1. I've just had bad experiences with them all around. For example, I couldn't unlock a domain for four months because their control panel would error out. Contacting support multiple times "magically" fixed the problem.

GoDaddy is alright, their support was prompt but.... I don't know, Hover's charm won me over. Saw their advertisement on TWiT and never looked back once I switched.
