Temporary Ban timer off?

Post by purebattlefield »

We have been seeing this odd issue when we temporary ban someone (either through EA GUID or Alias) the timer runs for much longer than the original time. For instance, if we set a temp ban for 2 weeks, it will usually last much longer (almost a week longer). Has anyone seen this type of issue before, or does anyone know what that timer is based off of?

Is it possible that the time on the machine that the game server is running on drifts from time to time causing our timers to be off? We have had issues with the time on our VDS drifting, but we fixed that by starting the Windows Time service to keep in sync with the internet time.

Our machines have their time synced daily and only VDSes potentially had the time problem that you're thinking of (http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =47&t=7879). This seems more likely to be a bug in the game, I'm afraid, or with a 3rd party tool that might be re-implementing the ban.
