Journey and Damage Rubberbanding players again!

Post by markym »

Wanted to know how these two maps in Conques tLarge on 64 player servers are preforming for you guys. For about a week after the patch they ran fine ..but the past two days I've had to pull both MP_Journey ...the train map and MP_Damage...the dam map... out of our rotation again. Almost all players in the server were reporting issues to me of rubberbanding/lag on those maps and I had the same experience. Is this a common problem still with these two maps and is EA aware of the issue with these two maps and how they are running? Once I advance to the next map the server was fine so I'm pretty positive its the maps that are causing the issue.

I've now had to remove MP_Resort as since R11 this map is rubberbanding players badly ...and since R11 MP_Naval, Paracal Storm map is now behaving poorly again banding players mostly in aircraft.

R11 just made stuff worse instead of better. And wow, so glad they pushed out R11 to stop us from kicking players -- I mean I don't have to kick them, they just leave because the rubberbanding is so bad they can't even play the darn game!

The good news is our server rental is up end of January and if this kind of stuff is still going on - it won't be renewed. Especially since we have zero control anymore of our own server thanks to EA.

Well mates, here goes another map out of our rotation now -- MP_Naval has started to be really bad on rubberbanding players even after server restart -- it seems to have gotten worse so now it's removed from our server. I'm now only able to run 6 of the 10 maps released. Are others having issues with MP_Naval and rubberbanding players badly?

It seems like ANY map that has water and attack boats it rubberbands on. Remove those maps from the rotation all is fine.

Lancang Dam, Golmud Railway, and Dragon Pass are still rubber-banding badly on my server. Had to take them out as per request by my members that can't stand the terrible rubber-banding anymore. They also say that sometimes Paracel Storm and Hainan Resort will randomly start up with that same rubber-banding but it isn't as common.

I have removed Dragon Pass from our China Rising servers rotation. From the very start of the map we get player complaints about lag and the map always has this problem even after restarts. However once the next map in rotation comes up everything is fine again.

Has any of you guys tried having NFO turn on threading as mentioned by Edge100x in this thread?

Did it have any positive or negative effects on your server in relation to the lag?

I had to pull Lancang Dam last night. Parcel Storm and Dragon Pass seemed fine.

Are we able to put these trouble maps back into rotation after last night's server/client update?

I don't believe any performance issues related to those maps were fixed but it never hurts to try.
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

Does DICE even know about the lag maps? Pretty sad that this is still a problem a couple months later. I bet this will NEVER be fixed.
