China Rising & Client Patch Questions

Post by markym »

my Battlelog Premium page is saying that China Rising comes out in 3 hours which would make that around 5pm tonight. Is anyone else seeing this in Battlelog on their Premium page. What's the real schedule for server updates, client patch and China Rising.

We've been told Dec. 3 at 10am UTC (2am PST / 5am EST). There will be a game server update immediately beforehand.

It's a bit weird that we've neither seen nor heard really a single thing on this China Rising but it's being released within just hours from now?

EA/DICE has been pretty quiet about it with us also.

Their site indicates that it has new maps and a new game mode, as well as some other items: http://www.battlefield.com/battlefield- ... ina-rising. We haven't yet been provided updated documentation, so I don't know the map codes or game mode code for certain yet.

Probably because they're nervous about what is going to break.

I would be too.

John, will you have the China Rising maps on the easy setup mapcycle when released?

Yes. There's still no documentation, but I was able to determine the maps and mode. The CP is updated now, preemptively.

Yeah, I can't tell what the hell it is. I don't see the mass player disconnect events going on, rather I see that the server just dies and comes back with a fresh uptime. I can't tell if the servers are repeatedly crashing or if it is somehow just a Blaze issue. Also, as far as I know, the NFO server restart system only executes once a day when/if the server empties out so it can't be that.

It is taking longer than expected to fully apply the patch due to some snags in our update system, related to a change in the way that servers are set up. We've been working to fix things up as quickly as we can.

Can't even get the server to stay up now....

It crashes as soon as anyone tries to join it or change anything with the maplist.

Seeing people trying to join but not actually getting in then had 6 make it in game and all were kicked and server went down 5 times since the update. Also see that punkbuster keeps turning itself off.
