China Rising
For the first time I'm attempting to run all China Rising maps.
I'm using the NFO map cycler, CQ64.
the first map that ran however was Siege of Shanghai???
Do I need to pick Air superiority to run CR maps?? <scratching head>

Re: China Rising
In additional settings do you have the Preset map cycle: set to (use your map cycle) ?

Re: China Rising
Just match them both --> Don't use "use your own"...
Just use "CR only" and u don't need to choose AS...

Re: China Rising
Thx for the help! Much appreciated.
Re: China Rising
No matter what I do, the first map after a reboot is siege of shanghai ...
Any thoughts on how to fix that?

I put 1 round of cr only (first) and 1 round (base) and I do not use random all... Works for me...
Re: China Rising
Cain, if you use a preset map cycle, the game will always boot up with the map from the beginning of that, because it ignores the map cycle file. That first map is most likely Shanghai. However, if you use our cycler to define your own, our system is designed to automatically switch you away from that first map within a minute, transitioning to the one that you want the server to actually start with instead.
Re: China Rising
Thx John.
I use the NFO "mapcycler", but I do use the "Preset Mapcycle: Conquest Classics" it was my understanding I had to do that in order to get the Quick connect traffic??
The NFO mapcycler has always been a mystery to me. The start map is always the second or third from the bottom, I've never been able to get the start map to be the actual map I want to start.
Is there some trick to getting the start map to being the one you want??

Re: China Rising
You are correct, Cain. I switched ours back to Official yesterday and used the NFO map cycler only to find it loaded the 7th map down on the list.Cain wrote:Thx John.

Re: China Rising
Glad that is not just me, I would love for the NFO mapcycler to load the FIRST map in the list as the start map, or perhaps give us some other way to reliably set the start map...
Also, Cris, the first map to load depends on how many maps are in the map cycler, and which map it is.
Grrrrrr..

Re: China Rising
This is due to the preset mapcycle, If I remember correctly it's a game bug and using our mapcycle allows you to run your own map cycle while still staying official and without going custom.
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

Re: China Rising
Perhaps NFO can figure out a way for us to set the Start map, when using the map cycler??
Re: China Rising
The cycler should pick up where it left off when the server is restarted. That is, the next map played should be the one that was going to be next when the server was last running.
Re: China Rising
So how do I set a start map, that will always be the start map, either when I manually restart, or the server crashes??
I want a fixed start map, and I suspect others do as well.
