OS Time is wrong

Post by dandsk »

The OS time on my VDS is off by 4 hours, yet it says its timezone is EST.

How do I reset the timezone and local time on my VDS?

This is a Linux VDS, correct? Have you tried changing the time within Linux? What are you going by to make sure it's the same? You can try using the timezone offset in the control panel (server control -> advanced options). Please note that setting an offset requires a reboot, so you may want to wait until your player count is at its minimum if you're going to adjust it, if you're running game servers. It doesn't force a reboot, but you'll have to reboot to apply the changes.

Sorry, forgot to mention it is Debian 7 linux.

Anyways, set the time in the control panel and I'm going to wait until next restart to see if it's fixed.
