Website DNS Question

Post by XDE4TH »

Hey all,

I have a handful of domains registered through GoDaddy. I would like to use at least one of them here at NFO for webhosting that I have. However, I have been using GoDaddy for EMail.

Is it possible for me to continue using GoDaddy for EMail and use NFO for the webhosting/site?

From the articles I've read I would change the NS over to NFO and make the MX use GoDaddy?

Hi,

You should be able to switch the name servers for your domain to NFO's (ns1.nfoservers.com and ns2.nfoservers.com), and then from the control panel you should be able to add the proper MX entries for your email to use GoDaddy's email service.

It works, thanks Rymax99! I tested it with a domain I wasn't using.

I changed the NS at GoDaddy first, to point to the NFO NS.
Then I had to add the custom MX Entries at NFO in the CP.
This is what I almost missed(the second link). I thought I had to change or edit them at GoDaddy, but everything at GoDaddy said it was setup properly.
All I had to do was take the MX entries that were at GoDaddy and copy/paste those entries into the NFO CP and it worked.

Just thought I may elaborate a little more in case anyone else overlooks the simple step I almost did.
