Payment help?

Post by Daggy-Chan »

Okay, this is making me aggravated.

I've spent a long time saving up money to buy a server from NFO and keep it alive for awhile, but it seems I can't.

Whenever I customize my server and I go to set up payment, i select PayPal, and then I'm suddenly forced to use a credit/debit card. I do not own either of these.

So how do I get around this and buy a server using just my paypal balace? I shouldn't have to have a debit card to play with my friends on our own Garry'smod server.

Have you configured Paypal as a payment source?
Not a NFO employee

That's what I'm trying to do. Whenever I try to configure it, it requires a debit/credit card.

It requires one linked to the Paypal account? Pretty sure it is a one-time thing, add a card to link the account, and then remove it if you are uncomfortable.

Please read the original post. I stated that I do not have a debit or credit card.

I believe that Paypal requires a debit/credit card or bank account to set up a billing agreement, which is necessary for a subscription to work. If you do not have a debit/credit card or bank account, one way to get one would be to purchase a prepaid card from a retail outlet.

I could suggest a work around to this issue, but I'm not sure if that would work.

You can use the donation system to donate the money from PayPal to your personal coffer and then use that money to purchase the server.

Would that be possible NFO staff?

I've used the coffer plenty of times to hold my funds, so I don't have to worry about using too much from my PayPal account. I don't have a credit/debit card either (normally use bank transfer), so in theory that should work if you keep doing it every month.

We still require a payment source be added to use coffer funds. It doesn't need to be a valid payment source, though, could be an expired credit/debit card or a pre-paid debit card with no money on it.
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point

@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!
