Alright guys, so I tried asking helpdesk but they sent me here. I'm currently creating a surf server on a VPS. Everything loads fine and all that, but my biggest issue is losing a lot of speed while going up the ramp while surfing. This causes issues for any kind of launch. And not just launches, even adjustments to move closer to the top.
There's no immediate cause I can see that would make this happen. I have tried multiple game modes to surf on and the end result is the same.
I'm not asking for anyone to come fix this for me, I just want to know what is causing it and how I would even go about fixing it myself.

I didn't really have to do anything special on my surf server(s) to get them to feel right. You just need the usual sv_airaccelerate 150+ command. The higher it is, the easier it is so strafe.
If you want more of a CS:S feel, you can mess with the sv_accelerate command as well. It makes you feel like you're playing with lower gravity when you raise it.

See, it was the same for me when I had a server a few months ago here. I want to attribute it to gamemode issues, but there's no reason a dedicated (and popular) surf gamemode wouldn't work either, so it's not my code that's causing the issue. The server is 66 tick, but AFAIK, that doesn't much matter.soja wrote:I didn't really have to do anything special on my surf server(s) to get them to feel right.
