Windows Server 2012 apps closing after logging off
Anyone know how to prevent running apps from closing after you exit RDP/VNC.I'm currently using Slashdot for RDP.I tried the recommendations in the tutorial section, but it doesn't appear to work.Thanks.

Instead of logging off, you should just use the "x" in the corner of the window. This will keep open your session and everything will stay running.
I also recommend running servers as system services, when possible.

I tried that with the same result.I have to be logged in as admin in the VNC & as soon as i logout, it shuts the app down.I noticed you mentioned firedaemon in the tutorial.Which version do you need?It looks like they have like 6 diff. ones.
Re: Windows Server 2012 apps closing after logging off
There is a big difference between logging out and simply closing the window. If you need applications to continue to run, you need to close the window instead of logging out.
The primary product, FireDaemon Pro, is what you'd want.

Unfortunately i can't just close the vnc window in the CP.I guess i could lock it..I figured the pro was the one,but wanted to make sure.I'll probably just download the NT resource kit & use instsrv.exe & srvany.exe.Thanks.

You could close the VNC window in the control panel. Navigating to another tab in the control panel is effectively doing the same thing, or just closing the control panel itself without actually logging off the VDS.
