Private Server setup
I need help setting up my server to be private. I'm tired of being told to go to the FAQ's.
We suggest that you read the FAQs because:
* Most of the important information is there.
* They are short and easy to read.
* You read about other problems that you may have later and familiarize yourself with those problems.
* The FAQs contain the best (most thorough) answers to questions.
The Frequently Asked Questions are a great resource that, once you learn to use them, can be very powerful. When you use the FAQs you also remove some of our support burden -- that means that we are better able to serve those who have questions not in the FAQs.
In any case, the answer to your question on how to set the server up to be private is that you need to define a password in server.cfg, using the sv_password command. Add a line such as the following:
sv_password "password"
