Does anyone happen to know of better MTR software for Windows? WinMTR sends all the packets through IMAP and can *sometimes* not reflect the true UDP/TCP experience on a gameserver.
In frequent cases you *can* see packet loss on UDP/TCP but not on the default IMAP protocol. I cannot confirm this, but I think it even fools some automatic route optimizer systems. (specially with cogent)
Also, the updated 0.8.6 version on Linux has an issue which prevents it from sending packets through UDP/TCP. Is there any way to bypass this or get the functioning 0.8.5 via emerge and/or apt-get?
Better MTR software?
Re: Better MTR software?
IMAP is an email protocol, you mean ICMP. You could probably uninstall the .86 version and just get the prepackaged .85 version.stickz wrote:Does anyone happen to know of better MTR software for Windows? Isn't there like a colon something for getting older versions of ubuntu packages via apt-get install? Manual installation is always an option, but it's a real pain.soja wrote: You could probably uninstall the .86 version and just get the prepackaged .85 version.
I'de be completely screwed for Gentoo if there was such a thing. .86 is bugged and .85 is removed.
