How to set up MySQL

Hi,
My friend recently got hosting from NFOservers. He can connect to the server himself, but whnever me and any others try to connect, it says 'the server's MySQL is currently down for some reason'. We do not have much of an idea about how to sort this out, any suggestions?

As a first step, it would be helpful if you posted the exact error. MySQL errors are pretty good at being specific enough to track down the issue once you know the error.

Do you have any third party plugins installed that use MySQL?

I approve this post.

So I got the stuff set up, server is up(sort of broken) But to narrow it down, and yes, it is the MySQL however

Buuut any clues on how to check up on the exact problem? I was trying to find some sort of host for the MySQL but.... I've been stuck on that topic for several hours. Then I found this:

and thought that that should do the trick, and yes, everything is hooked up to phpmyadmin when it's about the MySQL settings

Buuut no, it does not work, Could anyone give some tips about how to properly hook up your server with MySQL?

If you ordered a game server here, you also got webspace which includes MySQL databases. You can see it in your control panel under "websites".

What in your server needs a database? What kind of game server did you order?

Ah, it's a Garry's Mod server, I am using a custom gamemode called Combine Control

But I am not sure on how to link it up with the web thingy

Overall, your issue is a bit puzzling. Are you saying one person can connect, but after that it throws a MySQL error?

Seems like some plugin error to me. It changes MYSQL info after "player connect" event from the description.
