Does web-sync bz2 mp3 files when copying them to the web hosting?
If so, could this be changed so it doesn't compress them? This file format is already compressed. Adding a second layer doesn't decrease the size and moderately increases download times; by consuming additional un-needed resources during the decompression stage.
I'm not sure if this is residual residue from the past; but download times on my game-server are 30s longer, due to this issue.
Websync and mp3 file format
Re: Websync and mp3 file format
Our websync does not currently compress mp3 files or do any other type of compression because the standard Bzip compression for specific files.

Re: Websync and mp3 file format
MP3s are already a compressed format, so we don't compress them further. Compressing something that is already compressed doesn't save much in the way of space, but it increases the time needed to decompress them, since it has to be done more than once.
