Intel Xeon Golds

Post by stickz07 »

I would like to activate a VPS in Chicago, but the Linux machines don't offer enough instructions per clock cycle. Does NFO plan to get any new Skylake chips like the Intel® Xeon® Gold 6154? These are 15% faster and can run my game-servers.

I currently have a dedicated i7-3770 with 80 ticks specs at VPS price, through anther provider (but It's EU only). I'm looking for an American VPS that can run at 60 tick specs without any performance drops.

We use those chips widely.

If I were to activate a four core Linux VPS in Chicago, what would availability look like for a Skylake chip with a 3.0ghz+ base frequency? Are they supported on Linux or is this Windows only?

Currently, we use those chips primarily for Linux machines in Chicago, so it should be possible.
