How to setup mIRC for IRC Support

We use IRC (Internet Relay Chat) as one way to connect with customers and provide real-time support. The mIRC client is the common way to connect to IRC and chat with us.

1. Download mIRC from their website: http://www.mirc.com/
2. Follow the prompts to install mIRC.
3. On the last page, check the "Run mIRC" checkbox and press "Finish".
4. mIRC will launch and ask you to register. Press "OK" to continue.
   1. The default trial is 30 days before it requires registration.
5. The mIRC options page will open, showing Nickname, Alternative, and other fields. Fill out these fields with your preferred nickname and an alternative.
   1. Use a valid email format (email@isp.com)
   2. Provide two nicknames
6. To the right of the server drop-down, press the button with three horizontal lines to add a server. Add our server at NuclearFallout.WA.US.GameSurge.net or irc.nuclearfallout.net. Any GameSurge server is also acceptable.
7. Click the "Connect to Server" button and wait to be connected to GameSurge.
8. Type /join #nfo-support in the status window to join our support channel.
