template on os install/reinstall

I was in the control panel for my vps and noticed the option for a template (beta). It might have been there a while, but I just noticed it.
What do these actually do, like the personal vpn and the ai chatbox, the others are pretty self explanatory.

Hello there. So these are options we are working on, so that you can focus on certain things for a VDS. Such as the VPN option. The AI-Chat bot is an AI type machine, that will help with AI features. And so on. Did you hover over the ? on the page? That will give a pop up that explains more of that it means.


If you need further info, feel free to submit a help request from the "Help!" Tab on the control panel.

I did hover over the ? But it doesn't say anything really about the VPN and chatbot. Like what VPN it's setting up and what the chat bot is. Is it ollama or something else.
Was just looking for some clarity on it, not a big deal..

For the VPN image,

The software installed on the VDS would be WireGuard and Softether. After the installation is complete, an event is posted to the "Events log" tab, which includes all the pertinent information to connect to the VPN via either WireGuard, L2TP, or OpenVPN.

It also adds a new tab to your control panel called "VPN" with this information too, as well as options to generate more codes to onboard more users, enable port forwarding, and an option to add pi-hole to the VPN, which is an adblocker.

If you select one of the options from the drop-down, it will show a description that gives you a little more information. For the AI chatbot template, it installs Open WebUI and Ollama, yes. It sets up a username and password, sets up a secure subdomain with TLS, etc.

You can also create your own templates on "Custom VDS templates" tab in your control panel, in your user account pages. I expect for that to mostly be used by customers who install many VDSes and want them come preconfigured with specific utilities/applications/etc.

The template feature is still in active development and things may change before we make an announcement or release a product based on them. Please do test them out!
