editing cfg files
im new to the source server. i wanna restrict the awp, auto sniper, and auto shotty. where is this file located at? please hlep! my server is being taken over by nooby awpers!!!!!! lol
you cannot restrict awps without using a hl2 plugin such as this one:

I'm looking at the instructions at http://qoda.net/cssource/minimumadmin/doc/ and they are not specific to home servers at all. I'd recommend you use those. Just keep in mind when you're installing it that the "cstrike" folder is the default directory on your FTP.

his documentation applies to local servers as well as dedicated servers

yes your full steamid, STEAM_0:X:XXXXXX and ip would not be gameserver, its the players IPshaddy wrote:o then i would just add myself and anyone else i want as an admin to the admi.txt via steam id? then the i.p. is the my server ip right?
theres two ways to give admin, either via steamid, which you should do, or via IP address of the player(s)
