Which of the 3 listed have you used before $atanic $pirit?
I've tried the gamecp one, however, once installed on my website with a database properly setup, I was unable to do anything as it was asking for a license key (which I'd have to pay for).
I haven't tried any of the other ones you suggested yet, but would like to know which one's you have used and were they free?

I tried Bright Star panel and gamepanelx, both are Linux exclusive.
This one seems to be compatible with windows. Time for you to test, if it works or not.

I was just reading up on that one
From the looks of it, Halo isn't supported...I just registered to their forums and asked if that game was supported - so once I receive word in regards to if it is or isn't will determine if I will use that one or not.
If the game isn't supported, I hope they work on it to make it so. Time will tell I suppose
But in the meantime, I'll check out the 2 you listed in your post right above this one!
I'm fairly confident that my website VPS is linux based - so with that being said, since my game servers VPS is windows, will this work if I end up using 1 of the 2 you listed?
Essentially, once installed on my website - the connection from my admins logging into that control panel on my website to the game servers VPS...work?

According to my understanding. Your game server VDS needs to be Linux in order for the panel to work. Your web server can be anyone, but panel interface is based on Linux os, so I don't think it's gonna work. Give it a try, if you have some free time.

It works for Windows.
You can use it with any game since your only direction it to the executable server file and adding arguments from the command line. If your using a .bat file to start your servers, everything in that is what you need.
The only thing you might have to play with is the type of game setting for query.
If the game isn't listed, test it with the 4 gamespy query settings.

Thank you all for the information!
I do have a few more questions though - would I need to upload/install that brainless.us files to the game server VPS? and if so, what would I need to upload/install on my website VPS?

You just go on your unmanaged VDS via remote desktop. The open a browser and go to the website. Top left is a drop down menu for downloads, and your looking for EZUgcc. Once you download it, just double click on the downloaded fill to start the auto installer. You will come to a small panel that has install/repair/uninstall. First change the port to one that is free to use. I use 8090. Used 8080 in the past but for mine craft users, it conflicts with mymcadmin panel. Once you set the port, then click on install. Once its finished, close the installer and read the .text page that opens up. To access the control panel, on your computer, open a web browser and go to your server IP with the port you picked.
Eg. 1.2.3.4:8090
Login with admin/admin
You will also see the database being installed and will have to log in again.
You can select settings at the top and go to user management, select the admin account and change the password.
To setup servers, go to server management in the settings page.
Also I was incorrect on the license price. It's $30/yr and $25 for renewal. Right now he has a special that ends July 18 where you can get 2 for 1 license or request a 2nd yr extension.

Does it not require Apache, since you connect to it from browser?

No. Just a plain Windows server. It installs anything it needs.

Doing this method though, my game server admins would have to log into whatever IP:Port that is on the Windows VPS?.=QUACK=.Major.Pain wrote:You just go on your unmanaged VDS via remote desktop. I suppose I could go this route, but I'd like to get it where my game server admins can log in via my website which is Linux based.
Since all my game servers are located on the Windows VPS, this method would work, but my admins would have to log into that VPS's IP:Port. Wouldn't that cause security issues?

Create a game admin account with a login and password. Then set your game servers so that the game server admin account is the owner. Then they can only start/stop/restart the servers. As admin account, you always have full access to all game servers.

Re: Start/Stop/Restart Script that allows users to perform a
I have it all setup now on my Windows VPS, and everything is working as it should.
My next question though relates to how or what I need to do to change the IP:Port.
For example, since everything is setup (Game server control panel) through my Windows VPS (localhost:port), my admins will need the address so they can log in and access the game server control panel.
Currently my windows VPS is: XX.XX.XXX.XX:90 - and with the game server control panel, is setup as a website on the machines localhost.
How would I go about changing that IP:Port to an actual domain name like: www.example.com
Is there a way to do this for free or would I have to buy a domain name and set it all up via that machine?
I'd rather have my admins go to a domain name to access the game server control panel as opposed to having to remember an IP:Port to connect and access it.
Thoughts?

You can always point out a domain name to that IP. What I would suggest is that you point a sub-domain to that ip, so it's easier for your admins to access it.

You could always ask the dev at brainless.us on the forum. He's usually quick to respond.
