At the moment I am running the 2 core VPS setup, and will be upgrading to the 4 once the need arises.
The OS is windows (for now) but might change that if the need arises, as this is the first time I have run a gameserver using the Windows OS.
My servers will be running the max windows option for FPS (500).
At this time, I am looking to push 3 servers, and a fourth if I feel the system can handle it. At the moment I have a 20slot 24/7 office/dust2 server, and I am in the process of putting together a 30 slot WCS server as well. I am also wanting to get a gungame and DM server going too, but that will have to wait until I get a better idea of the server load of the first two.
Once I feel the need to upgrade to the four core VPS, I will be moving on to L4D games as well, and possibly others. I am looking to put together a gaming community spanning many games.

Sounds like you are enjoying it already, and I'm not surprised at all. PM me the IP's and I'll stop by sometime. I have single core package a while ago and loved it. Ran a 32 slot 24/7 D2 server and 12 slot match server, both at 1000FPS and worked wonderfully. Never had issues with CPU on even a single core. I was running CentOS though, but I got a steady 950+ FPS.smeikle wrote:At the moment I am running the 2 core VPS setup, and will be upgrading to the 4 once the need arises.

Re: Questions for NFO community (pre sales)
I am having a great time with this actually, relearning everything (in addition to dealing with the new issues brought on by OB) has been a wonderful experience thus far. Yes, there have been issues, but I have found workarounds for them!
The servers here are by far the best I have used, I cannot say that enough. The testing I have done alone has murdered other servers I used in the past. Anyways, the server I am concentrating on most at the moment is this one:
wod1.nuclearfallout.net:27015
It is a 40 man server with bots (until enough players join) betting, bank, and an exploding terrorist belt (something I have always wanted to see in CS!!).
Anyways, stop on by

Re: Questions for NFO community (pre sales)
I ran into a rather complicated issue.
My so called "partners" in the gaming community I was planning on building up have bailed, leaving me to come up with the finances for this. It is going to take me some time to secure continual funding for this (two to three months) and I was wondering:
Is there a huge demand for the SJ VDS's? Like, will I have a decent chance of being able to get one in that location again within that time frame?
and 2:
The website I ordered to use for fast map downloads, is there anything against the TOS that would keep me from using it to store the servers info (such as .cfg's and so on)?

The demand isn't as high as other locations, but we also have a limited supply available there. I don't know right now when more spots will open.smeikle wrote:Is there a huge demand for the SJ VDS's? We'll also be opening up LA for rentals next month.
As long as they're files that are meant to be web-accessible, you're fine. Using it for regular backups is against the TOS, although a few small files probably wouldn't be a deal-breaker.The website I ordered to use for fast map downloads, is there anything against the TOS that would keep me from using it to store the servers info (such as .cfg's and so on)?
