well supposedly 1.5 and 1.6 will be out

http://www.steampowered.com/platform/up ... trike.html

for 2 weeks you can play whatever you want, in 2 weeks, you will be forced to do it.

in the link above, you can see the changelog stating 9-9

however, others state that its ready, but they do no want to release both at the same time, bandwidth and issues with everyone getting steam first, then get everyone on 1.6.

we shall see

Here is some league info as well
Matt Morehead wrote:We will be using the latest version of CS when it is released. We normally have a downtime of one week to let everyone adjust to the new version. When 1.4 was released we gave everyone two weeks break to adjust.
So apparently everyone gets one week to figure out new strats and what have you for 1.6. Matt Morehead is a rep from CAL.

In other news. Steam has yet again been pushed back to a later date that has yet to be released.

well CAL has officially announced a one week break for people to update to the new version. This is good enough confirmation for me. I think it would be appreciated if you e-mailed users who are in CAL and asked if they'd like their server updated, seeing as some of us would like to play our matches =)

Ooops... CS Open hasnt updated since Wednesday. The main cal news page was updated yesterday. However, they have yet to say what they will do now since 1.6 was just released late last night.

Steam + 1 Week Break
Since most of you will still be trying to download Steam and 1.6 for the next week or two (thanks Valve..), CAL is taking it's usual one week patch break. If you have questions about Steam, CAL cannot help you. If you have questions about CS 1.6, CAL cannot help you. If you're wondering about the spyware rumors, they're just like any other company (i.e. yes they can and probably will). Good luck to all in downloading Steam and CS 1.6!

yes they have

steam and 1.6 final have already been released along with the hlds

as for cal there will be a period of time taken off before de_cpl_fire to adjust to 1.6 estimated at 1 to 2 weeks

cs1.5 will be up for a while as valve takes down the won system because of the change to steamids in 1.6
