Re: Tapatalk?
Is this working for anyone else? I'm getting an 'unable to connect, contact board administrator' message. Maybe the plugin needs updating?

We aren't currently running tapatalk on this forum.DeeVee wrote:Is this working for anyone else? I'm getting an 'unable to connect, contact board administrator' message. Maybe the plugin needs updating?
Re: Tapatalk?
Ah. I was under the assumption that you guys had put it on. Supply and demand, right? Looking at the above posts, seems that you could make your mobile customers more happy with a 5 minute software addition. My personal activity on the forum boards that I follow have increased as a result of this app being usable. Hope to see it on the boards soon! Tapatalk plugin for phpBB
Re: Tapatalk?
Unfortunately it's not that easy. Adding the software may be easy but there is far more to consider when adding third party software to a business site/forum such as NFO.DeeVee wrote:Ah. @Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

Re: Tapatalk?
Care to enlighten me? I'm unfamiliar. Is it an affiliation issue? Or, having to install the AutoMOD utility for the phpBB free forum software? Or that the mobile app is a paid app?kraze wrote:...but there is far more to consider when adding third party software to a business site/forum such as NFO.
Having the plugin on the server side doesn't suggest to your customers the necessity to purchase a mobile application. It does, however, provide a much more user friendly interface for the mobile platform (provided people choose to purchase it.) It would certainly increase mobile visits to the NFO forums!
Re: Tapatalk?
Most of it is evaluating the software to make sure it can seamlessly integrate in to the current board without causing any other issues such as a security or performance exploits.
When I installed Tapatalk they seemed to update pretty regularly, each update would also need to be checked for the issues listed above.
This unfortunately takes time to do which could take our attention away from other projects.
One thing I didn't like was that the app is a paid app. Even though it may be worth every penny I personally don't want people thinking they need an app to view the forums.

Re: Tapatalk?
Looks like tapatalk got compromised... The thread on their forums says the attack vector was wordpress.

Re: Tapatalk?
Tapatalk is not something that we plan to implement at this time. I want these forums (and our website in general) to remain free and ad-free.
