It will not allow me to put just a single % in Remote mysql. But im gonna go see if I can figure out what you are talking about in phpmyadmin

Here is an image representation of what I am talking about in phpmyadmin:

linked so it doesn't distort the forum so much.

Well my version of phpmyadmin is 3.4.11.1 I notice you have 3.5.2 atleast thats what it says in your browser tab. I do not have that users tab either. And there is no "more" tab also like you have. Im guessing I should figure out how to upgrade my phpmyadmin?soja wrote:Here is an image representation of what I am talking about in phpmyadmin:

Thank you everyone who helped me on this issue for hours yesterday. Sadly we could not get it corrected. Time to see what else is out there.
Re: NFO VDS will not connect to external MYSQL database, Hom
I would definitely not recommend a MySQL service that does not allow you to specify wildcards allowing all remote connections or all connections from your NFO location.
If you have a managed VDS, you should also be able to pick out individual IPs in traffic to/from your server through the "Firewall" page, and see the IPs for all your servers on their "Description" pages. You could try allowing everything you see in these places individually. (If you have an unmanaged VDS, you can just look at the full IP list on the "IP list" page.)

Im not sure I am aware of what you are referring to with managed and unmanaged VDS. I rent through tragicservers so would he be the one who has to get all of this information? If so I will pass your message to him.
Re: NFO VDS will not connect to external MYSQL database, Hom
If a customer of ours is reselling services to you then you would need to have him check these things out, yes.
The plugin could also should be able to generate logs that would tell you the error message returned by the MySQL server, if it's responding that the IP is disallowed. You might look and see if there's an increased verbosity/debugging option.

Re: NFO VDS will not connect to external MYSQL database, Hom
Well guys I am just returning to my support thread to say that I have fixed the problem. It was indeed a case of my gameserver having a different outbound ip address. I was dismissed so many times by numerous people that this is the case (not you guys) I eventually found the problem when I purchased a database through you guys. I transferred the mysql tables from my old database to the new one and entered in all of the info in my databases.cfg file for TF2. When I restarted my server the TF2_Stats plugin kicked back a completely different error than I had ever seen before. It said could not connect to database from "ip address.nfo.something something" as soon as my eyes saw those beautiful numbers I knew right then and there that was the outbound ip address for my gameserver. So since I already had everything still set up on my remote database I reconfigured my databases.cfg file to point back to it, and set up that new ip address in remote mysql to be allowed through and then I restarted my server and BAM. Connection to Mysql database granted!!! I guess my 8 years in the Air Force taught me persistence. I have learned a lot through this I must say. Thank you all for helping me out.
