Re: Rust support?
Yea but how many people play on your server?
Re: Rust support?
once it hit 30 out of 50.
now its around 15 people.
we was hit by a large DDOS attack which lasted 24 hours in the begining, but its plain sailing since then.

That's why it's so smooth, mine was hitting 100-140.J-English wrote:once it hit 30 out of 50.

Re: Rust support?
The thing with all these survival or sandbox games,it will never run smooth when it hits so many players.Eventually causing laggs etc.
Re: Rust support?
I don't think that's true.. I think that if GSPs are willing to give provide good hardware, it will be lag free.J-English wrote:The thing with all these survival or sandbox games,it will never run smooth when it hits so many players.Eventually causing laggs etc.
Re: Rust support?
Well,if you look at natural selection 2 ,which is not a sandbox game..still laggs at certain amount of players reached....Why because it is badly optimized. you can have best hardware and you will find you will have the same results.
Arma 3 is another one.
Good optimized game is the key, that does not eat up resources.

Re: Rust support?
lol who cares about optimization when you have brute force hardware power and i've seen arma 3 servers with loads of people on i used to host one with around 100 -150 people on it
Re: Rust support?
100-150 people is only made possible by appropriate software/game design. It's a very hard problem to do more than 64 slots on a small map in a modern AAA FPS, for instance, on any engine out there right now, on any hardware. To get 64 slots in RO2, TWI had to spend a tremendous amount of effort on optimization, because UE3 only does maybe 48 without it.

We’re not looking for more GSP’s right now. We’re happy with the small group we’ve got. We’ll make a news post appealing when we’re looking for more.
I hope he will reconsider, I wouldn't think of hosting this game with anyone but NFO.
Re: Rust support?
Abdul, if people keep asking for it, he might.

tweeted him and sent him a message on facebook
Re: Rust support?
All I need is someone to leak the password he is using for the server binaries, and I'm in there.
Re: Rust support?
Man, the worst part about it all is that two of NFO's customers (one of them being me) have access to host Rust servers and are on the official GSP list. Both of us were upstarts from Rust, and I know I personally never had the intention of selling them. I just wanted to host community servers.
But at this point, I might as well, since the privilege is so exclusive and the competition is non-existent. NFO entering the mix would definitely shake things up, and I've been asking Garry, but any question about hosting either gets ignored, or has the typical response posted on the website.

Hey Peep, care to leak that beta install password?
