Hello,
sorry for the double post. The post I made before this has been resolved. Please ignore it.
The issue now is that when you try and join game, you get a "Steam validation rejected" or a "Failed to join session" or a "You do not have this 3rd party mod".
I'm assuming it's a configuration problem... I don't know how to go about resolving this. I've tried for about 5 hours now with no luck. It's just a standard CSGO server freshly installed from steamCMD.
I was hoping you guys would have a standard configuration that you send out on your shared boxes to host CSGO servers. Is it possible for you to install your typical CSGO installation on my box or something like this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this issue is becoming really frustrating !

Re: CS:GO Issue
The CS:GO install that Valve is handing out right now is broken by not having steam_appid.txt included. You can work around this by creating that file in the root of the server folder (alongside srcds.exe). It should contain only this:
Code: Select all
730Re: CS:GO Issue
This is a different issue unfortunately - I've already put that text file there.
This seems to be a pretty common issue, but there's about 100 potential fixes for it. I've tried about 50, to no avail.
I don't understand how Valve could make their default install ridden with so many problems.
Anyway, like I said, if you can somehow put the installation of CSGO as you do for your shared hosting on my box, I think that would solve this issue.

Here's a screenshot of when you try and connect

Re: CS:GO Issue
What output does the server show for "status"? Do you see any errors when it starts? (Make sure that you have logging enabled.)
Re: CS:GO Issue
Oh, god, the problem was that I had appid 740 in steam_appid.txt instead of 730... I read on a website that that was the appropriate appid to have in that file. Sorry again.
