First thing is that the link under "Server control" > the hypertext "Remote Desktop" the link "Remote Desktop from Microsoft" brings you to a page that does not exist any more.
Second in "Server access" if you click change password for the user account it changes it under "server control" if you have not written down the password or changed it you cant get it back.
Third how do I change the VNC password?
Questions and things to point out.

also I understand pricing and stuff but I don't understand how my clean server uses 600mb ram how am I supposed to run any programs with out upgrading but I don't need the extra cpu
Re: Questions and things to point out.
Windows GUI hogs ram, if you just ordered, it is common for windows to do a LOT of background maintenance in the first few hours. It might settle down. You can order extra RAM at $5/GB. Learn linux if you don't like a ton of ram used by your OS My ubuntu VDS uses ~80MB of ram at idle.

545Mb is what a plain 2008 R2 uses without any roles installed. That's virtualized through VMware, should be fairly similar with Xen.
I do know framework 4 and above will add more overhead therefore I only install extra framework if absolutely necessary.

The old password will be shown in the log on the "Events log" page.spik330 wrote:Second in "Server access" if you click change password for the user account it changes it under "server control" if you have not written down the password or changed it you cant get it back.

You can also change the VNC password on the "Server access" page.
Re: Questions and things to point out.
i ment to a custom pass word not a random one.
Re: Questions and things to point out.
For security reasons -- it's the last resort method of access and is directly to the server console -- we don't allow custom passwords for the VNC console.
