I have gathered a handful of my favorite surf maps from gamebanana and ftp'd them to the maps folder. I am just unsure off all that needs to be done exactly.
I am assuming I set the game mode to custom and then just create a mapgroup. Or should it be deathmatch? Then I know there are some cvars I need to change but I am not sure which ones exactly other than airaccelerate to 100.
Also what plugins are most useful. This will be a private server so most people would be able to just rcon and set a new map but a voting system might be nice. Is KZtimer the best timer for surfing? What about a good knife menu? Is there a good autoresponse system so someone could type something similar to !maplist and I could have the plugin autoreply with a list of maps that could be selected using rcon?
I haven't set up a server since my early source days and even then it was nothing as custom as a surf server with plugins.
How do I set up a surf server.

Re: How do I set up a surf server.
These are your core commands to enable surfing:
sv_airaccelerate 150
(optional)sv_accelerate 10
The timer plugin handles most of the core features, this is the one we use on our 64 slot CS:GO server: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=2074699
Here is the knife shop: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=2074268
If you give your players sourcemod admin on the servers, they can type !admin and change the server map from a menu there.
We use the casual gametype, if you use custom you won't get drops.
