I've been with NFO for a while now and my player base has grown massively since then, including the demand for adding more game servers, as usual this would be expected in most growing communities.
I rent two VPS'es at the moment, one in Chicago and one in NYC. The Chicago one hosts 70% of my servers and traffic. I am looking to change this to a full machine but not exactly a package upgrade/change, since this would cause a few days of downtime. My plan would be to order a full machine as a separate package and then once it is running and ready, I would cancel my VPS package at that location if the following questions play out correctly:
Can the data be "copy-pasted" from my VPS to my full machine?
Can all IP's on the VPS be moved to the full machine?
Copy pasting data wouldn't cause downtime, but how long of a downtime would I get if I were to have the IP's moved from one machine to the other if this is a possibility?
If it is not, I still plan to probably end up buying one in the future and moving some of the lower traffic servers to it while adding additional ones.
For context, these both are/would be unmanaged machines.
I do not plan on doing this until around a month from now, but I figured it would be good to get some help in advance. Thanks.

Re: VPS to full machine questions
Since you have an unmanaged, you would be required to do the manual work of actually moving the files over, but it shouldn't be too bad since you are essentially copying and pasting from one HDD to another.Can the data be "copy-pasted" from my VPS to my full machine?
Generally, this is not an issue. You just need to let us know you're doing this so we can edit the system.Can all IP's on the VPS be moved to the full machine?
Only real downtime you should see would be copying the files over to the machine and making sure everything is configured correctly. Migrating the IPs would cause downtime, but can be limited if you're quick on getting the IPs reasigned to your network adapter on the machine.Copy pasting data wouldn't cause downtime, but how long of a downtime would I get if I were to have the IP's moved from one machine to the other, if this is a possibility?

@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

Re: VPS to full machine questions
With unmanaged VDSs, we don't have a way of copying data from the VDS to the unmanaged machine, because by policy (And by licencing requirements, if you're on Windows), we don't have access to the operating system. Because of this, it's best to make sure that the VDS will still be active for at least a few days after the machine is activated, to give you time to transfer data.
The only real downtime would be transferring the IP addresses from the VDS to the machine, which can usually be done relatively quickly, after coordination with John, our CEO, though, IP addresses can only be transferred to a machine in the same data center.

Re: VPS to full machine questions
Alright, thanks. I'm assuming it's a possibility that the IP's won't automatically be machine-assigned, so I'll just edit them in /etc/network/interfaces
The data shouldn't be an issue moving either, I can do that manually quickly.
Would I just make a ticket requesting my IP's to be moved from one machine to another when I'm ready to have them moved?
Also, since I would need all of them to be moved including the default IP, the VPS would have no IP addresses assigned at all. This is okay with me, since I will be canceling the package. Would this be a problem?

Re: VPS to full machine questions
Yes, you would need to just submit a request when you're ready. The VDS can't have 0 IPs assigned to it, so an extra IP you don't care about would have to be added to the VDS, but we can walk you through the process; it's not difficult.
