How do i do this VDS thing

Where specifically are you getting stuck with FileZilla? Have you tried their wiki for instructions? http://wiki.filezilla-project.org/FileZilla_FTP_Server

thats the part that gets me like what is it implementing im new to this whole sort of thing so im like a sitting duck right now

Implementing? That is just another word for "making use of" or "adding support for" in the context of that page. They are saying that SFTP isn't support in FileZilla Server, which is fine for Windows.

You would just want to pay attention to this part for the Server software:

1. Run the exe installer
2. Select admin port and remember this port
3. Launch FileZilla Server Interface
4. Enter port from above, enter (new) password for administration, click ok/connect
5. Create a user and/or group with permissions to a home directory.
6. Add additional directory and set the alias name to display within home directory (e.g. /AliasName)
7. Complete

what do i do if all this gets completed whats the next step?

If you follow those steps, you should be left with a working FTP server that you can connect to using any FTP software such as Filezilla, WinSCP, or even Microsoft's horrible built-in FTP client in the Explorer.
