When might I not want to use encryption/https for my site?

We recommend against turning off Let's Encrypt support entirely. But, there are a few scenarios where you might need to consider turning off the automatic redirection of http to https.
- If you use very old software that does not support redirection or loading a site through https://. For instance, some games might not support it for web-based downloads.
- If your site includes external resources that are only retrievable through http:// URLs. In this case, browsers will show that the site is not fully secure. It may be preferable to not have that warning.
- If you wish to use CloudFlare or another proxy system. Note that we do not officially support or recommend these with our hosting.
