Arma 3 Epoch/Exile Mod Installation Assistance

All guides I find are for local hosts, which I obviously am not. Videos just say to drag and drop the mod files in the root folder, activate the mod through the -mod line, and you're done. However, that is not the case. It has been almost two days. I'm about done with trying at this point, and so is the friend I've had helping me look up everything. We've been blindly throwing darts up to this point. Some have worked, others have not.

I need someone to put in the most simple terms possible to someone not so savvy with coding or Arma 3 modding (I'm coming from modding an Ark server, which is incredibly simple even when using the FTP) how to add the Epoch or Exile mods (I don't care which) and make them work on the server. I need to know how to activate the mission so it actually does come up and load in properly upon joining. I need someone to help me make everything work as it should. If there is anything I need to change in any files, I need you to tell me exactly what it is and where to put it. I use FileZilla if that means anything.

What exactly are you trying to set up, Arma 3 Epoch, or Exile? And what package are you renting from NFO, a VDS or a single gameserver instance (this is important, because Epoch requires a full Operating System access for the redis database, and Exile uses a MySQL (or just any database) server)?

Saying this, there are extensive step-by-step guides for both mods available under the official links, which you can, and should, consult and read and understand.

Either one works, and it is just a rented dedicated server. I honestly have no idea what VDS stands for.

VDS stands for Virtual Dedicated Server.

If you have a full machine, you now have to decide which mod you want to run (or both, if you have the resources). Important is a working and well configured base Arma 3 server installation, which you can do using the SteamCMD tool.
