Latency to AWS North Virginia availability zones

I'm wondering whether your NYC servers have lower latencies to AWS North Virginia than the Chicago and Atlanta servers?

I did some testing from NYC, Chi, and Atl against some us-east-1 ranges and NYC seems to offer the lowest ping, averaging 8.4ms or so. Chi averaged 21.8ms and Atl averaged 12.3ms
