Auto restart by NFO

Post by butler »

Hi, I have been finding in my events log that my server is having to be restarted about every 18 hrs. it also says to get hlsw.

1. Where do I get HLSW.

2. I am not familiar in how to use that program and the error says to look at the logs on why it is being restarted.

3.If a serve is having to be restarted why doesn't NFO check and see what the error is and either, send me an email explaining what it is , or just fix it?

I understand sometimes it is an isue with something the user has done to the configs. however I dont even know how or what to look for in the logs to determine what is wrong and needs to be done. I will try when I get home tonight to get HLSW and look at it myself. How ever if it is possible for you to check the logs I would be more thatn thankfull.

at the bottom of the logs, found this:

Code: Select all

L 01/20/2005 - 08:01:33: FATAL ERROR (shutting down): WARNING: couldn't open office.wad
This was when the map was trying to load de_office.

you need to upload all the files if provided in the zip.

if the map crashes the server, look on the bottom of the server logs, which you can grab from the FTP, logs folder, look at the time it crashed according to events.

I uploaded office.wad for you, that problem should be fixed now. All the other Automatic remote restart's was due to this problem as well.
