To make everyone's holiday (and beyond) a little more fun, we're significantly bumping up the quality on our HL1-based servers (CS 1.6, DoD, Counter-Strike:Condition Zero, and TFC), for free! All non-accelerated HL1-based server customers will receive a free upgrade to our ping accelerator, and all accelerated customers will receive a free upgrade to our hyperaccelerator.

We've started the rollout of these upgrades in Seattle, and we'll continue on to other locations over the next two weeks. We're also rolling out our new "ultraaccelerator" (which gives around 1000 server-side fps, compared to 250 for the ping accelerator and 500 for the hyperaccelerator) at the same time.
I have an HL1 mod based server. So my server (and other HL1 mod servers) will automatically be upgraded to accelerated? How long will this "Christmas present" last? :)

Its permanent, its not really a special in that sense. It will be upgraded when the upgrades roll out at that location within the week or so.

Ya, I talked to TimeX about it.

NFO is continuing to move on up and expand! Who would have thought that providing a quality product and excellent customer service would actually lead to business success? Obviously not other GSPs.

Just don't overreach so that you have to start raising the prices to accomodate high-end servers. I haven't exactly taken those Supply and Demand 400 Classes, but if you start moving into the direction of upward quality (and thus raising prices), make sure you keep a "value" package that's workable for your thriftier customer base. Price is a very big selling point for the type of "demographic" that gets game servers so don't stray too far towards quality at the sacrifice of bargain, if you get what I mean. That's just some feedback from a customer's perspective. :)

And about this upgrade..it's well...amazing.

Everyone's ping went down by 10. Not to mention your accelerated servers have accomplished an impossible feat...they've given very accurate hitboxes in VS. For those of you who've played VS, you also understand how baffling this is since this mod is legendary for its horrendous hitbox registration due to its gameplay. GJ, NFO :)
