Some Type of Sponsorship

Post by de_face` »

Hello,

I'm currently part of a cal-intermediate CS:S team in the atlantic division and I have been researching into sponsorships for the last few weeks. In the past I have been Leader of a team that paid for an NFO for a few months (team Gigaded Gaming, which was paid for by our sponsor Scooter, #scoot), and was greatly pleased with server performance and technical support (even thought it was on the cheaper end of your lineup of 12 man privates ). I have seen some wierd sponsorships going on in the passed month or so, for example a 99$/month summit-server 1000fps going to a cal-open team (5-3 s6).

I was wondering if not a full Game Server Sponsorship would it be possible to work out some type of partial sponsorship? My team, "Overweight Ninja Squad" #owns currently pays for a 100tick Aim2Game and nobody on the team thinks it will suffice for this season because it gets lagspikes and seems to have on-and-off performance (costs us around 39$ U.S.).

Thanks for your time and efforts, :)

....nothing in this world comes free (except some kinda commitment)

Usually the only teams get sponsorships are the teams in Cal-Professional and world class teams.
If you take a look at NFo affilates Verge and EFG are the top 2 teams in CSS atm. (If you can compete in a league with them and beat both teams regular basis and win tons of championships then your chances are 1/10 to be sponsored by NFo)

BTW i pay (well my team donates) around 60-70$ a month for a 12 slot server hyperaccelerated....all you have to do is get people to donate..if each member can't donate at least 5$ and you can't afford the server..well thats just sad then.

Pub server last month donation around 128$
Private server last month donation around 50$+
Usually i pitch in the rest..

All you have to do is get serius (dedicated) members.

All 6 of us are dedicated players, we are all also in highschool (exept 1), none of us have full-time jobs ( i only work in the summer to keep my grades up ) so it would be difficult to pay ~60$ a month, i say that for all of us. Just curious are you and admin/employee of NFo? And to answer to your opinion on only cal-invite teams getting sponsorships, as i said before somehow a cal-open 5-3 team has got a 99$ a month sponsorships from in most peoples opinion the top server provider (SUMMIT)

by the way, im not going to name this team that didnt even make the playoffs, but they secured a 1000fps server with very limited experience in leagues. In my first message I also mentioned we would be glad to have a partial sponsorship.

Hmm, I guess you don't understand that Summit is not even above Nuclearfallout's quality level because Nuclearfallout actually uses higher quality servers and bandwidth compared to summit. Also, you may want to consider that saying a GSP (Game Server Provider) is better than the one you're asking for a sponsorship is a bad idea. Take it from a CAL player who knows more than a brainful about Gaming, your team is not going to make it big nor are you anything special in comparison to any other team that inquires about sponsorships. By the way, Nuclearfallout does not sponsor and they have posted it so many times, it gets redundant and annoying for them I bet. Go talk to a low-level GSP (like summit or a2g) because NFo will not offer sponsorship (even partial).

Thanks for that very valid advice.

I wouldnt have posted if i didnt think my team wasnt going to go anywhere, minus the 1 ff loss we would have been cal-m.

Note that every other sponsorship post on this site has been by some cal-open starting team. They dealt with it quite immaturely and were clearly unexperienced cs:s players.

I'd still like to hear from an admin... anyway, well be coming back regardless when we push our way through cal-im. Because the whole team is getting older and it will become easier to 'pitch up' for a quality server.

Also, Im almost positive you havent played in a 1000 fps summit, theres a few out there and there are EXTREMELY smooth, although i have nothing to compare them to cause theres no NFo 1000fps servers that i can have the joy of playing on.

Thanks.

We aren't currently looking to add more sponsorships, sorry.

As far as 1000fps servers, we do offer them, and I hope you have the chance to try one of them soon. You should see EFGaming's server in Dallas -- it's quite a sight to behold.

I put a few hundred hours into 1000 fps development and am very proud with the way they turned out. I have not personally tested "1000 fps" servers from other providers, but I've tested ours, and I know that they're incredibly smooth. This is due to a combination of hardware, bandwidth, extensive kernel tweaking and rewriting, and automated server balancing, resulting in a very, very stable server FPS. I'll likely post more about these features to the main page or a FAQ in a bit.

I had a Summit Server for 2-3 months at least..if not more.
Their servers run smooth correct...but it took 24hours to put the server up. NFo does it instantly.
NFo Support is 100x better than Summit support trust me on that.

About the team that you said they got sponsored..well i say B/S. Summit doesn't fully sponsor teams (well their other company does Velocity). They "partially" sponsor teams which i know 2 of them are from Cevo-P, i think its Seclusions team.
Either have a proof that a team is getting fully sponsored by Summit and post their name + website or i won't believe you.

And no i am not an employee of NFo. I am a proud NFo customer.

Hey, im not gonna ask for sponsorship, i will demand it!! Give me a 2 slot server and a 3 slot vent. LOL, im just kidding guys. Anyways, sponsorship with providers dont often happen because you post what you did. I suggest you start your relationship first to get to know each other. How you may ask, thats a good question LOL. Thats just my opinion.

Yea, sorry i got ticked when people who really dont work or have any authority say "no"... Sorry being mean :(

I don't know if NFO knows me at all but i did have a team that was buying a server from NFO for some time... we used it for all of s6 cal-open until my team broke up.

Honestly I think if a nice company like NFO wanted to sponsor some people they would pick up a team with a lot of experience, a long history, and with some responsible adults who could actually give them a better name, not just some new team with a bunch of high school kids and I'm not trying to pick on you but thats the way it is.

More like a team that participates in E-Sports events and gets top rankings..also their website should have an amount of hits* everyday.
