Alright, all I'm trying to do is to set up that there Apache webserver on my VPS. The problem is that I'm new to this type of stuff (migrated (sort of) from using shared hosting), so doing something as seemingly simple as setting up Apache is totally confusing to me; even though the setup is very easy, I don't know what some things are--in particular, this portion of the setup:

I would really like to know what it wants for my server name. Thanks!

Re: Setting up Apache webserver?
Apache can certainly be confusing.
Those are things that won't come up much when you're testing and you could put pretty much anything you want in the fields, if you don't yet have a domain name. The public sees these things at the bottom of error pages, mainly.
Instead of installing Apache on its own, I'd recommend using WAMP. It'll get you up and running a lot faster, with PHP and MySQL installed as well.

Alright, thank you! I'll try WAMP right now, actually.

Alright, now how do I point my domain name to the VDS' IP address. I've been trying to do this for a while, but I don't really know what I'm doing.

Oh, nevermind. I finally got it to work!
